Who Stood Where In The TVB Anniversary Gala Pic?

TVB turned 57 on November 19 and more than 300 artistes gathered to celebrate the occasion at the annual TVB Anniversary Gala.

Among the night's most anticipated moments was the annual group photo, where all the artistes congregated on stage at the end of the show.

Over the decades, the pic has become a highlight of the event and would be scrutinised by the media.

You see, the placements of the artistes is seen as a reflection of their current standing within the company.

Those in the front and centre spots are recognised as TVB’s top guns, and up-and-coming stars whom the broadcaster is grooming and investing heavily in are also featured prominently.

So you bet there will be plenty of talk about who stood where, and who’s fallen in and out of favour.

Without further ado, here’s a breakdown of TVB’s 2024 family pic:

Liza Wang retains her centre spot.

Unsurprisingly, taking the centre spot was Ah Jie Liza Wang, flanked by leading men Moses Chan (right), who won Best Actor at the 2023 TVB Anniversary Awards, and Kenneth Ma (left).

Next to them were actresses Nancy Wu and Samantha Ko respectively, followed by Shaun Tam, Kelly Cheung, Ruco Chan, and Rosina Lam

One star that stood out was veteran actor Lawrence Ng, who returned to star in his first TVB drama in nine years Fei Fen Zhi Zui 非份之罪.

Interestingly, his spot next to Rosina was even more prominent than three-time Best Actor Wayne Lai, and reflects TVB's efforts to bring back fan favourites, noted Hong Kong media.

Another actor that drew attention was Karl Ting.

Regarded as TVB's next generation of male leads, he was given a prime spot in the second row behind Samantha.

We're pretty sure we'll be seeing more of him in the coming year.

Noticeably absent was actress Ali Lee, who is rumoured to be leaving TVB.

Once one of the station’s rising stars, she was cancelled in China for allegedly expressing pro-Hong Kong democracy views in 2019.

As a result, her face was blurred out during China’s broadcast of the TVB  Anniversary Gala in 2022 and 2023.

If this photo says anything, it's that Karl Ting is one of the stars to watch out for in 2025.
