TVB Actor Mat Yeung’s Girlfriend Says The Incarcerated Actor Is “OK” After Visiting Him In Jail

On December 22 this year, TVB actor Mat Yeung, 40, was ordered by the High Court to start serving his 18-day jail sentence immediately, after his appeal against his sentence for drink driving was rejected.
 

As a result, Mat had to spend winter solstice and Christmas behind bars. He will also be welcoming 2023 incarcerated.

At that time, Hong Kong media reported that the actor looked stoic as his sentence was passed down.

A day later, Mat’s girlfriend, Hongkong-based Malaysian actress Lisa Ch’ng, 35, was spotted at the Lai Chi Kok Correctional Institution, where Mat is currently held.
 

Lisa had accompanied Mat for all his court hearings, to show her support for him.

The actress had a big bag in her hand, believed to be containing daily necessities for Mat. By her side were an older couple, said to be Mat’s parents.

Like Lisa, they were both holding a big bag in their hands as well.

The trio appeared at the correctional institute at around 1 in the afternoon, and only left two hours later.

When reporters approached Lisa to ask if she was there to visit Mat, she declined to comment, and would only say: “Thank you for your concern, thank you for your concern, [Mat’s] OK!”.
 

She also reminded reporters to be careful, and to refrain from knocking down the loose debris that was on the road.

Similarly, the older couple that accompanied Lisa did not answer any questions, and merely hurried off after their visit without a word.

Mat is set to be released on January 8th 2023. He was previously arrested for a DUI in 2005.

At that time. he was fined HK$7,000 (S$1,215) and had his license suspended for a year.
