TVB Actor Lee Kwok Lun Called The “Worst Celeb E-Commerce Streamer” After Selling Almost Nothing During 8-Hr Live Stream

Like many of his fellow Hongkong actors have done, veteran TVB artiste Lee Kwok Lun aka Joseph Lee, who has appeared in many classic dramas such as 1997’s Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils and 2001’s Gods of Honour, moved to China in April this year to seek out more job opportunities over there.

In addition to taking on acting roles, the 67-year-old has also been dabbling in live stream auctions, but unfortunately, his most recent one achieved, um, less than satisfying results.

Last Thursday (Dec 9), Kwok Lun started a live broadcast to promote 10 different products. Although over 1,000 viewers tuned in, he received virtually no orders throughout the entire eight-hour stream.

Things did not improve even after he happily announced that the manufacturer was willing to offer a 200 yuan (S$43) discount on the items, and before long, some nasty naysayers started ridiculing him in the comments.

“It’s been half a day and you still haven’t sold anything?” one questioned, while another scoffed: “I even fell asleep and you’re still broadcasting after five hours!”

It was also noted that Kwok Lun appeared increasingly exhausted and started having red, swollen eyes as the broadcast progressed.

At the end of the day, some netizens estimated that Kwok Lun brought in less than 200 yuan (S$43) the entire night, leading him to be dubbed “the worst celebrity e-commerce streamer”. Ouch.

On the other hand, there were many more supportive fans who left warm and encouraging messages for Kwok Lun while reminding others not to be too harsh.

After all, there are plenty of other stars who have messed up or had super awkward moments during their live streams as well.
