72-Year-Old Director Tsui Hark’s Girlfriend, 43, Said To Be Pregnant With Their First Kid

The 43-year-old girlfriend of celebrated Hong Kong director Tsui Hark, 72, is said to be pregnant with his first child. 

Tsui Hark and his former-assistant-turned-girlfriend Lele were recently spotted out on a stroll together by the paparazzi, with Lele sporting a baby bump.

Tsui Hark was married to Hong Kong film producer Nansun Shi, 71.

The ex-couple tied the knot in 1996, and announced their split in 2014.

Tsui Hark and Nansun are long-time colleagues and co-workers, having worked together on movie classics like A Chinese Ghost Story, as well as Once Upon A Time In China.

When Nansun confirmed in 2014 that she and Tsui Hark had split up, the director was already in a relationship with Lele. 

A month prior to Nansun's announcement, Tsui Hark was seen out on a movie date with Lele. Nansun appeared to have known about their relationship, replying that it’s "been [going] on for a long time” when asked about it. 

Reports revealed that Tsui Hark and Lele got to know each other after she worked for him while he was directing the 2011 movie, Flying Swords of Dragon Gate.

Unsurprisingly, the news that Tsui Hark is expecting a child with his much younger girlfriend really intrigued netizens.

“Love can indeed overcome all obstacles,” one netizen wrote, while another questioned: “He's already 72, can he even do it?”

“His girlfriend? More like his granddaughter!” one netizen exclaimed, while another joked that Tsui Hark’s “just like a teenager”.

Others commented that this is likely to be a high-risk pregnancy for Lele, as she's 43.
