While his Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings co-stars were basking in the spotlight at the Marvel film’s London premiere, Tony Leung, who plays Wenwu, the villainous father of Simu Liu’s titular hero, was running errands by himself back in Hongkong.

The famously low-profile cinema icon, 59, is known to shy away from most public appearances, but his absence from Shang-Chi’s promotional tour — he didn’t attend the Hollywood premiere either — is also due to the pandemic making it harder to travel.
