Chinese Stuntman Who Doubled For Tom Holland In New Spider-Man Movie Has Fans Giving Them Matching Nicknames

Chinese movie fans have officially found Tom Holland a "brother".

Well... sort of.

The Internet has been buzzing over Wang Zhuang Zhuang, a professional Chinese stuntman who recently revealed that he worked as Tom Holland's stunt double in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

Chinese netizens have affectionately dubbed him "He Nan Di" (河南弟).

If you are wondering what that means, hear us out:

Tom Holland has long been nicknamed "He Lan Di" (荷兰弟) or 'Holland Younger Brother' by Chinese fans.

Zhuang Zhuang, meanwhile, is from Henan Province.

Since Henan (河南, Hé Nán) and Holland (荷兰, Hé Lán) sound remarkably similar in Mandarin, fans quickly started calling him "He Nan Di".

The nickname might be funny, but the reason Zhuang Zhuang ended up wearing Spider-Man's suit was far more serious.

According to reports, Tom Holland suffered a severe concussion during filming in September 2025.

Rather than shutting production down completely, Marvel Studios reportedly relied heavily on its stunt team for the movie's more physically demanding sequences while Tom focused on dialogue-heavy scenes as he recovered from his injury.

After the film's release, Zhuang Zhuang shared behind-the-scenes photos and videos on social media, giving fans a rare look at Spider-Man's suit, props and stunt work.

While this may be one of Zhuang Zhuang’s biggest moments in the international spotlight, he isn’t new to action films.

The stunt veteran has built an impressive résumé in Chinese cinema over the years, working on major productions including Raging Fire (2021), Sakra (2023), Panda Plan (2024) and Detective Chinatown 1900 (2025).

But it is probably safe to say none of those projects earned him a nickname quite like "Henan Brother”, right?
