Did you know that a former Miss Korea contestant is living among us?
Lee Hye Won, who was awarded the special prize in the 1999 beauty pageant, moved to Singapore last year because her son, Li Hwan, 12, is studying here.

The 41-year-old has been uploading photos of her enjoying the sights and sounds of our country on her IG, which led her followers to believe that she’s digging her life in Singapore.
Hye Won and her husband
Then on November 11, she updated her page with this ambiguous message: “He's such a liar who I can’t get in touch with every time [he] drinks. [You’re] really like this all the time.” Netizens surmised that she was probably referring to her husband, former soccer player Ahn Jung Hwan, who is still living in South Korea.
Comments on her post were filled with fellow women trying to assure Hye Won that her husband “could have gotten home and fallen asleep”, or that he “might have forgotten to charge his phone”. But there were some who asked her to leave him if he was cheating on her “because a leopard will never change his spots”

She then decided to delete the post and lock her IG account (but with 174K followers, what’s the point?), effectively shutting out curious onlookers wanting to scrutinise her page.
Netizens have been very sympathetic, with one saying: “She went all the way to Singapore for the sake of their son’s education. He’s a real scumbag if he’s cheating on her.”
Hye Won and Jung Hwan met in 1999 at a fashion show and got married in 2001. They have two children, a daughter named Li Won, 16, and Li Hwan.
