It’s no secret that Takeshi Kaneshiro, 48, is quite the, well, secretive guy.

The reclusive star has always kept a low profile when it comes to his personal life, and rarely makes public appearances.

Remember when an ex flight attendant accused the actor of complaining about her colleagues when they disturbed his sleep to ask for his autograph during a flight?

Dude treasures his privacy, okay?

Since starring in Chinese romantic comedy This Is Not What I Expected in 2017, Takeshi then acted in another movie, Juno Mak’s Sons of The Neon Night, though that has yet to be released.

It explains why his appearance on China's Elle Men has got so many people talking.

That, and well, he's Takeshi Kaneshiro.

Looking suave on the June issue cover China’s Elle Men.

Though the cover line of the magazine reads “Pu Tong Ren”, which translates to "normal, average person', Takeshi looks anything but normal and average.

Dressed in a black suit with his hair slicked back and a dignified-looking goatee, the actor is still every bit the heartthrob the world fell in love with two decades ago.

His fans were delighted to see Takeshi on the cover of a magazine and quickly flooded China Elle Men's Weibo with comments like, "He finally makes an appearance!”, “He brings a different kind of charm with age”, and "We can't wait to see him onscreen again, we really miss him!"

According to the magazine, their interview with the elusive star reveals his thoughts on "
living life as a normal person", which he says "brings enough happiness in itself".
