Taiwanese singer-actor and former 100% Entertainment host Alien Huang has passed away at the age of 36, his manager confirmed today (Sep 16). The cause of death is currently unknown and will be revealed at a later date.
According to Taiwanese media reports, Alien, who was also known as Xiao Gui, was found on the ninth floor of a building on Sanhe Street in Taipei’s Beitou District. His body was already stiff by the time it was discovered.
The news certainly comes as a huge shock to his friends and fans. Alien had just shared a short clip of himself feeding a dog on Instagram Stories just 21 hours ago, and his last photos were uploaded on September 13. The post is now filled with distraught comments from his followers, including Janet Hsieh, Kate Pang, and Aisa Senda, begging for the news to not be true.
Alien, who would have turned 37 in November, joined showbiz in 2002 and soon became known for his acting, singing, and hosting endeavours. He dated fellow singer Rainie Yang for three years when they were high school classmates and they remained close friends until now.
He has appeared in local drama Joys of Life as well as Michelle Chong’s 2011 flick Already Famous. He was also known to be good friends with Kate and Andie Chen, and even visited their house whenever he was in Singapore.
Rest in peace, Alien.
