Taiwanese Media Speculate How Wang Leehom Will Split His Reported S$147mil Fortune After His Divorce

On the other hand, Jinglei is listed as the sole director of Leehom’s Shanghai company, Huo Li Quan Kai Shang Ye Pte Ltd.

However, Taiwanese reports say that the company is owned by one of Hongsheng’s subsidiaries and that subsidiary is helmed by Leehom’s mother, Lee Mingshu.

As such, some Taiwanese media have suggested that it is possible that Jinglei walks away with nothing from the split, though that's highly unlikely.

Leehom and Jinglei registered their marriage in the US in 2013, and according to legal experts Taiwanese media spoke to, the couple might have to abide by US divorce laws despite not being based in the country and that would definitely affect how the assets are split.

The fact that Leehom's has companies in China and Taiwan too would further complicate things as well since China and Taiwan might not enforce U.S court orders with regards to the division of property, and assets located overseas is also subject to a country's own set of laws and taxes.

In short, it's going to be complicated.

Another aspect of the divorce watched closely by the media is who will be given custody of their children, Jiali, seven, Jiana, five, and Jiayao, three.

In other news, keen-eyed netizens have deduced that the split might have happened as early as February. At that time, Jinglei was spotted without her wedding ring when she attended a gathering with friends.

According to the media, Jinglei would wear her ring wherever she went, and the absence of the wedding band should have been a clear indication that there were cracks appearing in her marriage.
