Taiwanese Host Cheryl Hsieh Clarifies Reports That She’s Now Working As A Waitress After Her Cheating Scandal Ruined Her Career
She was seen cleaning tables and serving customers at a cafe.

If there’s one thing we learned from the celebrity headlines last year, it’s that cheating on your significant other is really, really not worth it.
While the affair between Taiwanese hosts Cheryl Hsieh (also known as Xie Xin) and Aaron Chen (also known as Ah Xiang) didn’t generate a media circus as intense as Andy Hui and Jacqueline Wong’s backseat tryst, it still caused considerable damage to their careers and reputations.
Aaron, for the uninformed, is married to model Grace Gong and the couple has three young children together.

The kiss of death (of their careers)
Since then, both Cheryl and Aaron have been on an indefinite work hiatus, and in March, Cheryl announced that she has parted ways with her management company of 13 years. In her Facebook post, she declared that she will “start over” and continue to “work hard”, but did not mention what exactly she will be doing next.
Well, that mystery may have been solved. Recently, Taiwanese tabloid Mirror Media received an online tip from a netizen who claimed to have spotted the 38-year-old working at a cafe on Yongkang Street in Taipei.
On the morning of April 3, a reporter headed to the cafe to investigate, and lo and behold, there Cheryl was, disinfecting tables, arranging chairs, and getting the place ready for the day.

Hard at work
By noon, the number of customers was gradually increasing, and Cheryl spent four hours on her feet pouring drinks, taking orders, and serving dishes. When it looked like she finally had some free time, the reporter quickly approached her and introduced himself.
Cheryl was shocked at first (“How did you find out about this place?” she asked), but she agreed to give an interview, sharing that she has always frequented the cafe because she would like to launch her own F&B business in the future.
“Since I know the owner, I decided to come and learn how to make coffee first,” she explained.
When asked if she’s been working at the cafe because she can no longer survive in the entertainment industry, Cheryl denied it and said that she’s always been interested in experiencing different things in life. What’s more, the COVID-19 outbreak has left her without much else to do.

Better than sitting home all day doing nothing, we guess
In fact, Cheryl revealed that she’s actually not getting paid at all as she’s still on an “internship” with the cafe.
“I don’t think about the money because it’s not important; I’m just here to learn the basics,” she said, admitting with a laugh, “The hardest part is remembering the orders, because I tend to be very forgetful!”
Despite having a tough time dealing with the public fallout that comes with being labelled a homewrecker, Cheryl said that she’s doing much better now. “My mood’s great, I’m eating well and sleeping well, and I’ve even put on a bit of weight!” she claimed.
As for whether she still thinks of Aaron, Cheryl replied, “Not at all. The past is in the past.”

She’s moving on
“I’m actually looking forward to finding love, but I won’t force it,” she continued. “I also have reservations about seeing someone who’s also in showbiz. Who knows how people will slam me when I get into a new relationship!”

Worry about it when the time comes
