Taiwan's No. 1 AV Star Turns To Singing, Wishes To Become "The Andy Lau In Someone's Heart"

Switching careers is not going to be easy for someone who made his name in the porn industry, but it's something Taiwanese AV star Chen Sen is hoping to do.

Recently, the 33-year-old, who's hailed as Taiwan's "Number One Male AV star", shared that he has released his debut singing album.

He revealed that he has loved singing since young, and that his biggest wish is to share the stage with his idol, Heavenly King Andy Lau. 

Chen Sen aims to become as hardworking and driven as Andy and hopes that he can one day become "the Andy Lau in someone's heart" too.

According to Chen Sen, he got into porn during the pandemic.

"My mother had to go for spinal surgery, and I needed to earn money to feed the family," revealed Chen Sen, who said he's from a low-income family.

Chen Sen never tried to keep his job a secret — it's "almost impossible" to do so too given his popularity. 

"The tone some people have when they find out about my job would make me uncomfortable. I can tell from some of the questions that they only want to know if it is fun."

His family was supportive of his career choice since he wasn't "robbing anyone or doing anything illegal".

"My attitude at work also wouldn't make others feel disgusted," said Chen Sen. "They know I'm doing it for my family. Now that my family's financials are better, I can finally chase after my dreams." 

On top of that, the star doesn't think having been a porn star would affect his relationships in the future. 

"I'm not doing anything wrong towards my partner romantically. But if the other party minds, I won't force it either," he said.

So is Chen Sen going to give up his porn career completely to focus on being a singer?

"I could do both at the same time, but no one would care about my singing if that's the case. So, I'd rather just be a newbie singer."

That said, Chen Sen acknowledged that being in porn has helped in getting him more attention.

"After all very few guys have debuted this way. Right now, everyone's focusing on that, and they don't care about how much effort I've put in. But to me, this is just part and parcel of life, it doesn't represent all of me," he said.
