Chinese Actress Sun Li’s 11-Yr-Old Daughter Wins Latin Dance Competition In London

Chinese actress Sun Li is one proud mama.

The star’s 11-year-old daughter Deng Han Yi, more commonly known by her nickname, Xiao Hua, recently took part in an international Latin dance competition in London where she won first place in the junior category.

Sun Li, 42, and her husband, actor Deng Chao, 46, also have a 13-year-old son, Han Zhi. 

A netizen, who spotted Sun Li at the dance competition, shared a video of the actress filming Xiao Hua’s performance and award moments.

“Her eyes were filled with pride, excitement, and joy,” said the netizen.

In the video, Sun Li could be seen taking snaps of her daughter during the award presentation like a fangirl.

Xiao Hua, who was in a red dance costume, then approached Sun Li and her dance coach with a trophy in hand, smiling.

After the video went viral, the topic “Sun Li’s Daughter Wins Latin Dance Championship in the UK” quickly shot to the top of Weibo’s trending list.

Many called it the “best Mother’s Day gift for Sun Li”, while one fan quipped: “[Sun Li] was holding her phone filming the whole time, grinning from ear to ear — her motherly pride practically leaped out of the screen.”

Some netizens weren’t surprised by the girl’s talent. 

“Mum was trained in traditional Chinese dance, dad does freestyle — of course the daughter’s got skills," commented one user. 

Xiao Hua, who has been learning Latin dance since she was five, has already won multiple domestic dance competitions.

Sun Li occasionally shares snippets of her daughter’s dance practice on social media. She even mentioned that Xiao Hua once got injured from the intensity but kept going out of love for the art.
