Li Cheng Xuan had a bold question to ask on-air, and his wife had a hilarious response when fans asked her about it.

Celebrities sometimes drop the most hilarious bombshells on variety shows. If you've watched the recent episode of MangoTV's Workplace Newcomers: Season of Traditional Chinese Medicine, you'd know what we're talking about.

In a clip of the Chinese reality show that has since gone viral, Korean-American actor Li Cheng Xuan (also known as Lee Seung Hyun) got pretty candid with a TCM physician about his, um, personal needs.

"Which body system controls sexual activity?" the 41-year-old Call Me By Fire star candidly asked.

The answer? The kidney. The actor then clearly had a follow-up question but was seemingly embarrassed to ask.

He only boldly asked his question after the physician encouraged him that "there's nothing to be shy about in a medical discussion".

"If your [sex drive] is very strong, how do you reduce it?" Cheng Xuan finally asked.

Cheng Xuan married Chinese actress Stephy Qi in 2014 and they have two kids — a 10-year-old daughter, Lucky, and a three-year-old son, Seven.

Netizens were tickled by how earnest he looked while trying to get an answer, and many teased the actor for "treating the physician like he's family" with such a personal inquiry.

It begs the question: Just how badly does Cheng Xuan need to know the answer? Or was he just, you know, asking for a friend?

In case you're wondering, the TCM physician's answer to his query was to "replenish the body’s yin energy" by eating things like sea cucumber, or a herb called Dendrobium.

Netizens did not hesitate to interrogate Stephy about her husband's questions during her recent Douyin live stream.

One even openly asked in the comments: "Has Brother [Cheng] Xuan seen a doctor yet?"

The ever-so-frank actress also did not shy away.

"Yes, he did, he did," the 41-year-old said nonchalantly, only for Cheng Xuan to interject: "I did not see [a doctor]."

Though the couple did not confirm at the end if Cheng Xuan did see a doctor or not, Stephy went on to defend her husband for his shocking libido-centric question.

"The thing about couples having sex, I think it is something [people] should be talking about. Everyone avoids discussing this topic, I don't know why," she said.

"I think it's a very healthy question that can be explored openly. I don't understand why nobody dares to voice and touch on this subject matter."

We're not surprised by how comfortable Stephy is with chatting about sex, especially since this isn't the first time the couple has brought it up on a variety show.

Previously on Chinese reality series Viva La Romance 2025, Stephy also revealed that she "dresses very conservatively at home" to keep her husband at bay.

"I’m afraid he might get some bad ideas," she quipped at that time.

She once also divulged on her blog that Seven was conceived because her husband couldn’t resist himself on the last day of her period.

The actress even used that story to remind all women that there’s really no such thing as a completely “safe period".

But come on, it's the 21st century, is sex even still a taboo topic?

He really wanted to know
At least it shows they are still very much in love
