Stephen Fung, 47, Reveals Why He Now Sports A Grey Beard
Some people can really pull anything off.
It's been a while since Hongkong actor-director Stephen Fung acted in a show, but the 47-year-old has finally made his onscreen comeback in drug-themed Chinese drama Day Breaker.
Stephen has won the hearts of viewers playing a cop who straddles between doing good and being evil, a role he said has been “most challenging" for him.
But there's something else audiences love more than his impressive acting abilities.
And that is: The scruff on his face.
The actor recently revealed that growing a beard is something he's been doing quite often, but only when he's not acting.
"When my beard gets too long, it's actually quite uncomfortable."
He then went on to reveal one of the reasons he decided to grow a beard.
Turns out, it has something to do with his career as a director.
"[It helps to have a beard] When I'm directing overseas because Asians tend to look younger physically. Even though I'm not young anymore, I don't look [old], so I grew a beard to make myself look more mature and stern," he explained.
