Stanley Ho’s Daughter Laurinda Ho Found To Have Breached Social Distancing Rules While Shopping

According to Apple Daily, the group initially abided by the rules by splitting into three tables of two when dining at a hotpot restaurant in Kowloon. However, during the meal, Laurinda, 29, kept turning around to chat with her friends at the other tables.

After the meal, the group adjourned to another eatery for dessert before hitting the streets for some shopping.

In the midst of store hopping, the group stopped to take some selfies, with complete disregard to social distancing rules.

That's not all.

When shopping for snacks, Laurinda reportedly pulled down her mask to chat with her friend and even walked around the store for about half a minute before putting it back on.

Laurinda, who is based in Shanghai, recently revealed on Weibo that she was exempt from self-quarantine when she returned to Hongkong. Nevertheless, she chose to stay home for a week as a responsibility to herself and others.

Hongkong announced on Monday (Feb 1) that it would extend social distancing measures for another two weeks as the city battles its fourth wave of infections.

According to the latest restrictions, group gatherings are restricted to two and masks must be worn at all times in public. Anyone caught participating in a prohibited group gathering may be fined HK$5,000 (S$855).

Hongkong has reported 10,511 COVD-19 cases since January last year and 184 deaths.
