The Squid Game hype may have died down already, but the Netflix series continues to make history.

On Jan 9, Oh Young Soo became the first Korean actor to win at the Golden Globes when he bagged the Best Supporting Actor in Television award for his role as Player 001 in the hit series.

After his historic win, the media clamoured to get an interview with the 77-year-old, but they were all rejected for the same reason: Young Soo had a performance to get ready for the next day, and wanted to focus on preparing for it.

The actor is currently starring in the theatre play The Last Session, in which he portrays famed psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud.

Young Soo shared a message through the production company, saying: “Being able to focus on performing on stage is very precious to me, and I’m very happy to be able to do so. I’ll do my best so that the audience that come to watch the play don’t waste their time.”
