It's why every tiny detail in a new video released by his agency, History D&C, was scrutinised heavily by the public when it was released on June 15.

In the teaser vid, which appears to be an outtake, SJK is seen grinning at the camera and saying: “I’ll do that again. I must be getting old."
His words were dissected by netizens, many of whom felt that the 34-year-old star is looking very different. “Did he put on weight?” one wondered. Another wrote: “He’s no longer the fresh-faced actor I remember. Could it be because the good-guy image I had of him has been destroyed?”

Other netizens said that the actor's "puffy face" makes it “look like he had fillers done”, while there were some who lamented that he is “turning into a total uncle these days” and that they miss the suave Joong Ki from his Descendants days.

And those weren't even the most unkind of comments. Enter this netizen who took it upon himself to make a prediction about the actor's career. “He was never a traditionally handsome face like Jung Woo Sung or Won Bin (…) Now that he’s getting older, there’s nothing great about his face. He’s also smaller sized, so I think his career will go downhill unless he makes up for everything with amazing acting chops.”
Two of SJK's upcoming movies, Bogota and Space Sweepers, have both been pushed back because of the COVID-19 situation. He was also slated to start work on the second season of Arthdal Chronicles but production on that has been postponed indefinitely.
