Song Joong Ki, Park Seo Joon On List Of 2023's Rudest Korean Celebs

Hollywood may have the Golden Raspberry Awards aka the Razzies, but have you heard of the Golden Raspberry Festival?

The annual event run by Korean media outlet Sports Kyunghang is in its seventh year and the no-holds-barred festival gathered 55 (an increase from 34 last year) film journalists from leading media agencies to vote on actors and directors with the worst attitudes of 2023.

Taking the top spot was The Point Man actor Hwang Jin Min, 53 who garnered 18 votes.

According to voters, Jin Min frustrated reporters by not giving any interviews in the past five years as he seemingly prefers to appear in content on YouTube.

He was also criticised for appearing lazy, often leaving promotional work to his castmates and directors.

Second place belonged to Marrying the Mafia: Returns director Jung Tae Won, 59 with 14 votes.

Respondents were not impressed when Tae Won admitted during a press conference that he was fearful of the media’s negative reviews and said it felt like he was “being shot” by their words.

Actors Lee Dong Hwi and Song Joong Ki, both 38 shared the third spot with 12 votes each.

Both stars were called out for being rude to reporters in recent interviews when asked about their significant others.

The former was described as having terrible manners during a recent interview in which he refused to answer a reporter's questions about his girlfriend, Squid Game actress Jung Ho Yeon.

On the other hand, Joong Ki publicly told off a journalist back in October. He sarcastically asked, “Are you writing a novel?” when a question about his wife Kathy Louise Saunders was brought up.

Interestingly, there was no fifth spot as 10 voters had said there were none with bad manners.

Actors Park Seo Joon, 35, and the late Lee Sun Kyun rounded up the sixth spot with seven votes each.

Seo Joon was reported to have been unfriendly at a press conference for Concrete Utopia prompting journalists to call out his poor attitude, labeling him “unbearable”.

Sun Kyun’s drug investigations on the other hand were said to have caused a host of inconveniences for his upcoming projects.

The Worst Actor category saw actress Han Hyo Joo receive 17 votes for her role in Netflix’s Believer 2 to top the list. Interestingly, Hyo Joo won best actress for her role in Disney+'s Moving at this year's Grand Bell Awards. 

Seo Joon made another appearance in fifth place with five votes for his role in Concrete Utopia.
