Those who caught the latest episode of Chinese reality show Sisters Who Make Waves 2 last Friday (Mar 26) would probably have been greeted by a very familiar tune.

With only 17 contestants, down from the original 30, fighting for seven spots in the final girl group, competition has been steadily heating up.

And on the latest episode, the contestants were split into three teams, with one team, consisting of Chinese singers Na Ying, 53, Bibi Zhou, 35, Jike Junyi, 32, and Chinese actresses Hu Jing, 42 and Li Fei’er, 33, performing Singaporean singer Olivia Ong’s ‘Ru Yan’.

The song, which was released in 2008, is best known as the theme song for the massively popular Mediacorp drama, The Little Nyonya.
