Singapore Did Not Make It Onto List Of Top 10 Asian Countries With Most Sugar Daddies

We wonder why.

At this point, we are not surprised that the industry for sugar babies (aka full-time girlfriends or boyfriends) is totally booming

Remember that Taiwanese fresh grad who said he didn't want to live without his sugar mummy's monthly 5-figure allowance after he got dumped?

Or that "full-time girlfriend" in Kuala Lumpur who claimed her entire outfit cost S$150K?

Recently, media company seasia.stats cited a survey done about the top 10 countries in Asia with the highest number of sugar daddies.

First things first: a sugar daddy typically refers to an older wealthy man who provides gifts and money to younger individuals in exchange for companionship or sexual favours.

Top of the list is India, which reportedly has 338,000 sugar daddies.

Indonesia came in second with 60,250 sugar daddies while Malaysia and Japan were tied for third with 32,500.

Last on the list is Cambodia with 3.5K sugar daddies.

Singapore, however, did not make the cut.

While the methodology of the survey was never revealed, netizens suggest that the data had been pulled based on where the users live.

We can't help but wonder if this means our population is just too small in comparison or maybe, just maybe, Singaporeans are just not into sugar daddy-sugar baby relationships.

Though seasia.stats claimed that the survey was done by Seeking.com, previously known as Seeking Arrangement, the dating site subsequently clarified with 8days.sg that they "have not released any statistical data on numbers in Asia".

They stressed that the information shared in the survey "does not come from the team at Seeking, and is both inaccurate, and misattributed".

Seeking.com also emphasised that they had rebranded in 2021 and is no longer a sugar dating platform.

"Seeking.com as a brand, is a luxury dating platform, and any sort of compensated dating is strictly prohibited. We do not condone compensated dating or sugar dating of any kind," they asserted.

Some netizens, however, asked: "Where's China?". We don't know... maybe they have their own sugar daddy app behind that great firewall?
