Simon Yam Spotted Near Funan, Plays Scissors Paper Stone With Fan

It’s not every day you bump into a celebrity — let alone twice in one day — but that’s exactly what happened to one lucky fan in Singapore.

Yesterday (May 19), the fan, a Chinese student studying here, had two chance encounters with Hong Kong actor Simon Yam, 69, while he was out and about in the city.

She shared her encounter on Xiaohongshu, along with snaps with the star near Funan shopping mall.

"How can someone bump into him twice in a day? And both times he was alone! He’s really down-to-earth and even played rock-paper-scissors with us. Before leaving, he told us to study hard. He’s really handsome,” wrote the fan.

We're not sure why anyone would play rock-paper-scissors when they meet fans on the streets, but okay.

Her post quickly caught attention online, with other netizens chiming in to say he was in town for the Lady Gaga’s Mayhem concert at the National Stadium.

Simon was spotted in the VIP area at the May 19 show.

Also seen were stars like Gigi Leung, Angelica Lee, Elva Hsiao Vivian Hsu, and Joe Chen.

Apparently, Simon is a, um, Little Monster.

Several netizens commented that he was at the Lady Gaga concert in Hong Kong in 2012.
