Shum Yuet, the eldest daughter of former Hong Kong actress Chingmy Yau, isn’t the only celebrity offspring to be making her showbiz debut.

Ella Yam, the 18-year-old daughter of Hong Kong actor Simon Yam and Chinese supermodel Qi Qi, has followed in her mum’s well-heeled footsteps to make a splash in the modelling world.

Can’t say we didn’t see this coming. After all, the leggy teen, who has inherited her parents’ good looks and height, has been dubbed the “second-gen star with the most potential”.

Check out those gams!

Though Ella has been gracing the covers of Hong Kong’s fashion magazines since 15, Simon has objected to her entering showbiz — until now.

Last month, Qi Qi took to Weibo to share several photos from a campaign Ella did to mark the 25th anniversary of Hong Kong's handover to China. In her caption, the proud mama described Ella as an “up and coming model in Hong Kong” and tagged her in her post.

Netizens couldn’t stop raving about how “beautiful” and “confident” Ella looked and congratulated her on her debut.

She definitely won the gene lottery

Simon previously shared that Ella has no interest in acting, but enjoys modelling like her mum.

“I think she’s doing well,” he said.

A natural in front of the camera, not only has Ella graced the covers of Hong Kong’s biggest fashion magazines, she’s caught the attention of many luxury brands, who have lined up to cast her in campaigns.
