Simon Yam Objects To His 13-Year-Old Daughter Joining Showbiz

When your parents are Simon Yam and Qi Qi, it's almost a given that you'd be blessed with good genes. Case in point is 13-year-old Ella Yam, who recently did a photo shoot with Style International Management, which is home to Chinese models like Gaile Lok and Angelababy. She was accompanied by her model mummy. Ella, who has said her aspiration is to be a fashion designer and is interested in modelling, counts Angelababy and Gigi Hadid as her modelling idols.

Alas, Dad has openly rejected her entering the showbiz business. "Taking pictures for memories' sake is okay, but studying is the most important. I firmly object to my daughter entering showbiz," he said. But the actor is not all serious. "I can take better pictures of Ella. Normally I secretly take pictures of her to make it look more candid. I like taking pictures of her back view."
