Simon Yam, 70, Turns His Accidental Fall Into Superhero Movie Moment, Thanks To His Quick Reflexes
Tripping in front of the media can be one of the most embarrassing things a celebrity can experience.
But for Hong Kong film legend Simon Yam, it became the perfect chance to turn an accident into another iconic moment.
On Saturday (Nov 22), the 70-year-old star attended the VIRTUOSE: The Artistry of Couture 2025 fashion event with his Chinese super model wife Qiqi, 58.
However, as he stepped forward to take a photo in front of the media scrum, Simon was accidentally tripped by the carpet, causing him to tumble forward and his glasses to fly off.
The incident obviously caused a commotion, leaving Qiqi, whom Simon was walking toward, completely stunned.
But the actor went on to blow everyone’s mind with his swift reaction.
He executed a spontaneous body flip and finished in a one-knee pose, as though he was intentionally staging an action-movie moment.
"Amazing!” the actor exclaimed. then repeatedly reassured everyone that he was fine.
Amidst the mayhem, Qiqi quickly picked up Simon's glasses and checked if he was hurt. She also pointed out the raised part of the carpet that caused the fall.
Meanwhile, the impressively unfazed Simon put on his glasses again and nonchalantly resumed the photo-taking session with his wife.
During a subsequent interview, the actor laughed that fashion is full of limitless imagination and creativity, and that he's very happy to have given a perfect interpretation of its beauty through his accidental fall.
As for receiving praise for his agility, the humble star simply shrugged it off, saying he’s still not bad.
What an icon, seriously.
