Simon Yam Got COVID-19 And Recovered From It Without His Wife Or Daughter Even Knowing
In their defense, they were overseas, while Simon was in Hongkong.
Imagine only finding out that your husband contracted COVID-19 from watching the news. That was the situation Simon Yam’s wife found herself in earlier this month.
According to media reports, Simon, 67, usually does an ART test twice a day, once in the morning, and again in the evening, as he’s currently busy shooting his next project, upcoming thriller flick, Under Current, which will also star Aaron Kwok, Francis Ng and Kathy Yuen.
Unfortunately, one of his tests came back positive in end-June, and the actor had to stop work and quarantine himself. Thankfully, Simon, who has already gotten his booster shot, didn’t have any strong symptoms.
Simon shared that he only experienced some back ache, as well as a light fever for about a day and a half.
The actor also tested negative two days after that, and has since returned to work. In fact, his symptoms were so mild he didn’t even think to inform his wife, Hongkong super model Qi Qi, 54, and daughter Ella that he’d gotten COVID-19. But don’t worry, it’s not ‘cos Simon was irresponsible or anything.
As it turns out, Qi Qi and Ella are currently on holiday in Europe. Therefore, he didn’t want them to worry.
“I only knew after watching the news, I just woke up [‘cos] we’re in Europe right now,” Qi Qi shared, when contacted by the media. “I called him after watching the news, he was afraid that we would be worried, so he didn’t tell us. Hope everyone’s safe and healthy,” she continued.
Qi Qi went on to reveal that she will return to Hongkong with Ella in August, and that she video-calls Simon every day, which makes the fact that he managed to hide his COVID diagnosis from her even more impressive.
