Show Luo Told Off A Reporter For Not Doing Her Homework

Lee Teng, who’s the owner of STAGE’s local boutique, brought the brand's founder Show on a mini store tour - surrounded by security guards and the media scrum, of course.

They then broke a large ice sculpture using gold hammers to celebrate STAGE’s 9th anniversary.

Ever the consummate joker, Show elicited laughs all around with his witty quips. When he and Lee Teng were asked to “look in the middle first” during the photo call, Show joked about “looking up” instead. At one point, he even pretended he was taking money out from his sling bag, before posing with his palms facing upwards while saying, “Show me the money.” The 38-year-old singer was also as unassuming as his get-up. “Everybody, bye bye!” he said, thanking the store’s staff as he made his way out, but not before stopping to take a pic with a middle-aged male fan. Here are four other things we found out about Show during a quick 10-min interview.

“Sometime in the year before, I was offered a role which required me to shave my head. I was wondering if I should take it up ’cos I wanted to have a breakthrough. So that’s how the saying ‘Got No Fears’ [for my stage label] came about. After I decided to take up the role, they decided not to film that show anymore. But that phase has now become my motto.”

For the uninitiated, Beauty Luo (pictured; right) is Show in drag. The singer's alter ego made “her” first appearance on variety show Go Fighting! and later in Show’s 'What's Wrong!' music video. When asked what's the greatest challenge when it comes to cross-dressing, Show deadpanned: “Beauty Lo and I are two different people. So if you have the chance to meet her, you can ask her. She looks a lot like me.” He jokingly added, “She’s more popular than I am! I’m jealous of her. So I sent her off to Thailand and I'm not letting her come back!”

Here is the hilariously-awkward exchange between Show and a journo from a Chinese media outlet.

Reporter: Show, you came to Singapore seven years ago. So when’s the next time you’ll be coming back again?
(Lee Teng interjects: It should be said that it’s been seven years since his last visit to the STAGE store here. But during these seven years, he’s come to Singapore for a few events.)
Show: (Teasingly) You didn’t even pay attention to me!
Reporter: Sorry about that.
Show: I was here for a concert three years ago.
Reporter: Is that right?
Show: (Sniggers) How awkward it must be for you!
Reporter: Sorry about that. So when will you be coming again for your next concert?
Show: I'm not even done with this concert. So I don’t know when I’ll be coming back [for my next concert].
Reporter: Aren’t you going on your world tour?
Show: I’ve been on my world tour for over two years now.
Reporter: What about your new world tour next year?
Show: There isn’t one. Jie jie, you need to do your homework!
