Show Luo And His Manager-Turned Nemesis Sun Derong Bury The Hatchet After 20 Years
The pair had a very public falling out in 2000.

It's an understatement of epic proportions to say that Show Luo has had a rough 2020. But one bright spark of Show’s year is that he finally resolved a 20-year conflict with his former manager Sun Derong.

Show and Derong back in the day
Derong, who is one of Taiwan’s most famous celeb managers, has been instrumental in crafting the careers of stars such as Eddy Ou, 5566, Ming Dao and Joe Chen over the years.
He and Show had a very public falling out in 2000 when they had a dispute over the singer’s contract. The fight turned ugly as Show accused Derong of sexual assault, while Derong in turn exposed Show for “faking” millions of dollars worth of donations. According to Derong, those donations were only made in Show’s name, but the funds came from their company.
Two decades later, Show and his former manager finally buried the hatchet. It was reported that Show had recorded a birthday video for Derong’s 60th birthday party on December 30.
In the clip, Show said, “Hello! It’s been almost 20 years since I last wished you happy birthday. Time really passes really quickly, but these two decades have seemed like an eternity for us. We had a lot of misunderstandings about each other, but we resolved all of them from opening up our hearts to each other over the phone. I’m so happy that we’re back to what we used to be.”

Show added that while he wanted to be there in person, he was unable to because he was afraid that his presence would cause a disturbance to the event which was attended by a lot of reporters.
Derong later clarified with the media that it was him who asked Show not to turn up at the event. “It’ll end up with everyone grilling Show,” he chuckled. “Anyway, I think the media needs to be kinder to him. That swimming pool that everyone was criticising him for? It’s so shallow that it shouldn’t even be called a pool! It’s a waste of time arguing about it.”
