Shawn Yue’s Daughter, Who Was Born Prematurely, Weighed Only 1kg At Birth
His wife delivered their daughter at 28 weeks.

The past few weeks have been a very trying time for Hongkong actor Shawn Yue and his wife, Taiwanese model Sarah Wang, who welcomed their second child, daughter Chu Xin, prematurely.
Chu Xin was born at 28 weeks and the couple, who also have a two-year-old son Cody, only announced her arrival on social media earlier this month after her condition became stable.

Sarah broke down when she saw Chu Xin
Yesterday (Dec 16), Sarah opened up about Chu Xin’s premature birth and the struggles she and Shawn went through as they watched their little one fight for her life.
When Chu Xin was born, she weighed just 1kg and when Sarah saw her being hooked up to multiple tubes in the incubator, she broke down and cried.
“Her head was about the size as my fist or even smaller. There were so many tubes inserted into this 1kg tiny body. I was heartbroken. I did not protect her well. Why does this small body have to go through so much? I could only sit next to the incubator and break down,” said Sarah on Instagram.
“Shawn told me that when he first saw our daughter, he couldn’t stop crying. From the time I have known him, I have only seen him tear. He is a very strong person, so he must have been very heartbroken.”

Sarah had a difficult pregnancy
The 32-year-old blamed herself for not protecting Chu Xin during the pregnancy and being complacent when she was hospitalised and put on bed rest.
“I was optimistic at the time and felt that I would be discharged in a few days, and I was lucky to be able to get out of bed and go to the toilet. The doctor told me to stay as long as possible, for at least 28 weeks as the child’s survival rate would be much higher. Every time I heard this, I would be very disappointed. I never thought that such a situation would happen. I was not prepared and didn’t want to prepare for it,” she shared.
She revealed she was terrified when her water broke when she was in her 28th week as her daughter was still too small and “not ready to come out to meet [them]".
“After being transferred to another hospital, I was in so much pain that I couldn’t sleep. The doctor informed us of the various risks and complications that premature babies may face… As I was too worried about my daughter, I kept crying during the operation. I fell asleep twice under anesthesia, but I still couldn’t control my emotions,” she said, adding that it was only after the op when Shawn showed her a photo of their daughter that she felt at ease.

Hello, Chu Xin!
Fortunately, little Chu Xin is “very brave and strong”, and it was only after she was discharged that the couple could share the good news with everyone.
Sarah also took the opportunity to thank Shawn for his support during the trying period and for "being so brave and for staying by [her] side.
"Thank you for loving me," she wrote.
Shawn also left a comment on her post, writing: "Thanks for your hard work."
