Shawn Yue Wishes Eddie Peng Happy Birthday; Accidentally Exposes Eddie’s Relationship Status
Netizens were very, very excited.
In January this year, Taiwanese actor Eddie Peng was the subject of reports claiming that he’s currently dating Taiwanese singer-actor Danson Tang.
The reports were swiftly denied by both Eddie and his management agency, with the star even taking to his Weibo to post a very strongly worded denial.
And yesterday (Mar 24), on Eddie’s 39th birthday, his fans received yet another confirmation that the actor is indeed single through a most unlikely source.
Eddie has no lack of "suitors"
You see, Eddie’s good friend Shawn Yue had taken to Weibo to post a short message wishing Eddie a happy birthday.
“Happy birthday, my most beloved Sun Wu Kong [Eddie and Shawn last worked together for the 2017 film Wu Kong, where Eddie played the titular character]. Here’s wishing that you find a partner [and settle down] soon,” Shawn’s message read.
Shawn’s not-so-subtle hint at Eddie’s singleness was very well-received by fans and netizens alike. Many quickly took to the comments section to promote themselves.
“I'm single too, you know” one netizen commented, while another wrote: “Thank you thank you, I’ll immediately register my marriage to Eddie”.

Eddie’s love life has largely remained a mystery, despite being linked to a number of stars over the years, including Jolin Tsai and Chinese actress Summer Qing.
In 2018, controversy arose when a picture of a woman hugging Eddie from the back was posted online. However, it was later revealed that the woman was just a fan.
Shawn and Eddie first met while working together on the 2002 drama, Brave To Love, and have remained close. In 2017, when Shawn tied the knot with Taiwanese model-actress Sarah Wang in a private destination wedding, Eddie was one of the few celeb guests invited.
