Shawn Yue Wished Pakho Chau Happy Birthday Reportedly Ending Their Supposed Feud
They allegedly fell out over Hongkong actress Kary Ng years ago.
Hongkong actor Pakho Chau, who turned 36 on November 12, marked the occasion simply, with two posts on his Instagram, filled with his musings on 2020.
Calling it a year that has been “very special, and a year that has allowed me to become stronger”, the 36-year-old shared that he’s “lucky to still have my family, friends and loved ones, so that I can stand firm and be strong”.
Sounds pleasant enough, right? But netizens were more interested in seeing who commented on the actor’s post, and making speculations on the actor’s friendships from there.
You see, Hongkong actor Shawn Yue had left a comment wishing Pakho a happy birthday, alongside comments from other celebs like Joey Yung, Roxanne Tong and Louis Cheung.
And it wasn’t even anything particularly special, but netizens were pretty stoked to see that Shawn had left a comment anyway ‘cos the two actors have quite the history behind them.
Sounds like something straight out of an idol drama
Back in 2013, Shawn had just gone public with his relationship with Hongkong singer Kary Ng. Their relationship quickly became gossip fodder ‘cos Kary was reportedly interested in Pakho, and had been after him for quite a while. However, Kary was said to have been rejected by Pakho, which was why she started dating Shawn.
At that time, Shawn and Pakho were said to be on relatively good terms, and even played on the same basketball team, but their friendship soon soured.
In 2016, Pakho and Shawn were seen going for a meal together, with Shawn calling the rumours of their discord “ridiculous”.
P.S: Both Pakho and Shawn (as well as Kary) are all happily married to their respective partners now
And now, four years later, we guess Shawn’s comment on Pakho’s post pretty much cements the fact that there is no longer any bad blood between the two of them.
Now let's see if Pakho will leave a comment wishing Shawn a happy birthday, since the latter’s birthday is today (Nov 13).
