Shawn Yue Posted A Photo Of His S$2.1mil Rolex And Jay Chou Had The Perfect Comment

Shawn Yue has pretty expensive hobbies. Before he started a family in 2017, he was known as a bit of a spendthrift with a weakness for luxury cars.

While he's now a family man — he's reportedly thinking of selling his cars to fund his kids' future education — he still indulges himself once in a while. On October 5, he posted a photo of his Rolex on Instagram. And it’s not just any Rolex, mind you. The actor’s 18-karat gold Cosmograph Daytona Paul Newman "John Player Special" is so sought-after that it sold for £1.215mil (S$2.1mil) at a recent Sotheby’s auction in London. This particular model is known to be one of the rarest in the Daytona configurations, and according to Sotheby’s, there are only 10 of it in existence.

While it's not known when Shawn had bought the watch, his caption “I like the vintage feel" has attracted a fair bit of attention. And that's because of

Months after we visited the upper floor following reports of shuttered shops and sparse foot traffic, we returned on a Friday afternoon to see whether things had changed. This time, Level 2 had noticeably more people around, from teenagers and tourists to older shoppers. More importantly, shoppers were actually interacting with the stalls, trying things on and making purchases, rather than simply browsing and walking through. There are still plenty of shuttered units, and Level 2 remains much quieter than the ever-busy ground floor, but the atmosphere felt noticeably livelier during our visit. Bugis Street is also hosting its “Somewhere @ Bugis Street” weekend events as part of its ongoing efforts to bring more activity to the area.
