HK Actress Selena Lee Reconciles With Ex Fiancé On Dating Reality Show

Hong Kong actress Selena Lee, 44, has reconciled with her former fiancé, fitness coach Anson Cha, following their appearance on Chinese dating reality show See You Again 5.
The couple’s reconciliation was revealed in the show’s finale, which aired earlier this week. Despite having broken up eight months prior, the pair revealed they still had deep feelings for each other.
Selena and Anson first met in 2016 and had an on-and-off relationship for eight years. They were engaged for three years before Selena announced their split in February 2025, a move that surprised many fans.
During the programme, Selena opened up about the issues that led to their breakup.
She revealed that Anson’s absence during a difficult period in 2022 deeply affected her. At the time, she had undergone four eye surgeries due to thyroid-related complications and was unable to work.
“I spent so much money on surgeries and had no work. How could you not even ask if I needed financial support?” she questioned him on the show.
Anson admitted that he assumed Selena could cope on her own and expressed regret over not being more present.
As the show progressed to its final decision stage, Selena shared that the 18 days spent together had allowed her to see changes in Anson, giving her renewed hope.
She described herself as soft-hearted and said she was touched by his efforts, eventually deciding to give their relationship another chance.
“I’m a soft-hearted person. I don’t want him to be unhappy. Seeing how much effort he puts in, my heart aches for him,” she said.
Selena’s decision also sparked renewed discussion online about her solo trip to Turkey in October last year, where she did a bridal shoot.
At the time, netizens speculated whether she had already reconciled with Anson and was preparing for a whirlwind wedding, which she denied, calling it a journey to “love herself”.
In hindsight, the trip may have coincided with the period when the couple was quietly mending their relationship.
While some netizens labelled Selena a “hopeless romantic”, many still expressed support and wished the couple happiness.
