On March 28, Myanmar was hit with a 7.7 magnitude earthquake, leaving more than 3,000 dead. Following the tragedy, countries including China, India, Thailand, and Singapore, sent search and rescue teams to aid local units in their disaster relief efforts.

Among them was a 51-member strong Hong Kong search and rescue team, which has since returned home on Apr 9 after their search and rescue mission in Myanmar.

The team was greeted at the airport by Hong Kong politician Lee Ka Chiu in a homecoming ceremony held at the airport. But it was very special members of the team that stole the limelight.

Yes, we're referring to the search and rescue dogs that took part in the mission.

Mr Lee leaned down to gently stroke the working dogs who were standing beside their handlers, expressing his gratitude for their participation in the rescue.

One pooch in particular thoroughly enjoyed the attention it was receiving, and even laid down to expose its belly for more rubs. It was certainly an aww-inducing moment for many in the crowd.

Clips of Mr Lee's interaction with the dogs quickly garnered attention online, leaving netizens equally amused and moved by the scene.

"This adorable dog has had more life experience than many of us, but is still quick to surrender when it comes to belly pats," laughed one netizen. Another gushed: "It must be saying 'quick, praise me for a good job'."

These furry friends really do deserve all the pats they can get.

They worked hard too
