Sammi Cheng Had A Very Gracious Reply When Asked About Husband Andy Hui’s Ex-Mistress Jacqueline Wong’s Showbiz Comeback
Sammi’s all about forgiveness.
If you haven’t heard yet, Hong Kong actress Jacqueline Wong, 34, is staging her big showbiz comeback, four years after her career-ending cheating scandal.
And yes, it’s happening today on Valentine’s Day, to boot.
Netizen reaction to the news was understandably mixed, but what everyone wanted to know was — what would Hong Kong pop diva Sammi Cheng, 50, think about it?
After all, the man Jacqueline had an affair with happened to be Sammi’s husband, Hong Kong singer-actor Andy Hui, 55, and Jacqueline was pretty close to Sammi too.
Though Sammi has publicly forgiven Andy after the scandal, she hasn’t spoken much about Jacqueline. So when Sammi made an appearance at an event for her latest film, Lost Love, yesterday (Feb 13), the media took the opportunity to ask about it.
And boy, did Sammi handle things with poise. She first spoke about her plans for Valentine’s Day, revealing that she didn’t have anything special planned for the day.
“We don’t need any candlelight [dinners, just a simple [meal] of salted fish and cabbage will do,” she smiled.
Then, she addressed Jacqueline’s upcoming comeback with this simple statement: “I didn’t know about this piece of news, but if you were to ask me, actually, everyone should have a fresh start.”
Now, isn’t that utterly graceful and cool of Sammi?
