5566's Sam Wang Looks So Defeated Trying To Rubbish The Years-Long Rumour That He Only Has One Testicle

Celebrities sometimes find themselves plagued with the weirdest rumours.

For 5566 member Sam Wang, 46, it's how people have been claiming that he has only one testicle for many years.

In a recent episode of Taiwanese variety show 11 Dian Re Chao Dian, Sam and Taiwanese model Hua Hua were asked why sparks never flew between them.

Hua Hua, who has been friends with Sam for over two decades, then said she never developed feelings for Sam because of his "condition". 

Revealing that she's always heard speculations that "Sam Wang only has one testicle", she said: "When I first heard about this, I thought it was fake. How can he only have one?"

"But more and more people, like [Taiwanese stars] Li-Tung Chang and Kacaw Kapa started discussing it. I started to have doubts," she added.

Hua Hua then claimed she came face to, um, ball with Sam's condition.

According to Hua Hua, Sam once bought her a cake, which he passed to her at home.

She later realised that Sam was actually eyeing a green camouflage bag that she owned, hence the reason he was at her place.

"He liked it a lot but I refused to let him have it. He came to my house to take it, but I told him the bag is kept in the top corner of my closet and I can't reach it," she recalled.

Sam then said he would stand on a chair to grab the bag, with Hua Hua making sure he was safe by holding on to Sam. 

Apparently Sam was wearing a baggy pair of shorts that day and did not put on underwear. So when Hua Hua looked up, the first thing she saw was Sam's testicle. 

After staring at it for five seconds, Hua Hua said she exclaimed: "Only one ball! Oh my god!"

She also asked Sam later: "How come you only have one?"

Upon hearing this story, Sam, who was seated next to Hua Hua in the studio, had a look of exasperation on his face before explaining that his other testicle "was on the other side".

He then lamented that Hua Hua should be helping to rubbish the speculations instead of adding fuel to the fire.

Her response? "But I really only saw one!"

The show's host William Shen went on to explain that the condition he thinks Sam has is cryptorchidism, which is an undescended testicle.

Sam, however, said that he doesn't have that problem. 

"I've known Hua Hua for over 20 years. If I really only have one, she'd have known long ago and wouldn't be kept in the dark for so long," he reasoned.

When Hua Hua insisted that she doesn't believe him, a hapless Sam then sighed: "Let's see how much of my life I have to spend explaining this."

Poor dude.
