Sam Hui’s First-Ever Live Stream Concert Attracts Over 2.5 Million Viewers
He also created an avenue for fans to donate to the Tom Lee Music employees who lost their jobs due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
Cantopop legend Sam Hui held his first live stream concert yesterday (Apr 12). And boy, was it a success. The hour-long show, which was broadcast for free over YouTube and Facebook, attracted a whopping 2.55 million viewers. Sam performed on an open-air rooftop in Hongkong, where he sang his hits like ‘Eiffel Tower Above The Clouds’ and ‘Through Thick And Thin’.
The 71-year-old musician, who is a huge fan of Elvis Presley, once said that he would never release recordings of his concert performances just like his idol. As such, the live broadcast of Sam's gig will only be made available for 24 hours so that fans all over the world can tune in at their comfort. After a day, the footage will be deleted from his official channels.
