Sally Yeh & George Lam Spotted Flying On Budget Airline From Vietnam To Hong Kong
With the Cantopop legends set to perform at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in April, will any lucky passengers be seated next to them on their flight here?
It's not unusual to spot celebrities stretching out in Business or First Class, posting photos of plush seats and seven- course in-flight meals. After all, privacy is priceless for famous faces, especially when things can spiral the moment they're spotted in Economy.
That's probably why the internet did a double take when veteran Cantopop stars George Lam, 78, and Sally Yeh, 64, were seen flying on a budget airline.
Earlier this week, a netizen took to Xiaohongshu to share that she and her sister ran into the iconic couple while boarding a flight from Da Nang, Vietnam, to Hong Kong. It is not known what airline they were flying with.
According to the post, the sisters initially stole a few discreet glances while queuing, just to be sure it was really them.
After confirming their identities, they mustered the courage to approach the duo for photos. Not only did George and Sally agree, but they were also described as warm and chatty.
The netizen shared that the pair complimented her looks and outfit, offered travel recommendations and casually made conversation, sounding more like seasoned backpackers than Cantopop royalty.
Since the couple is set to perform at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on April 4, will they also be flying budget too?
The post quickly sparked discussion online, with many praising the stars for being so grounded despite their status.
Some commenters also pointed out that the flight from Da Nang to Hong Kong typically takes under two hours.
“They were probably just being sensible considering the duration of the flight was so short,” one commented.
