Recently, a clip of veteran Hongkong actor Liu Kai-Chi (also known as Dick Liu) working as a street vendor went viral on Weibo and Douyin, with many accounts claiming that he is struggling financially due to the lack of filming projects and had to resort to selling clothes to make a living. Chinese media outlets even ran dramatic reports on how Kai-Chi is now living an “impoverished and difficult life”.
