Rui En Is Going To Make You Laugh In Her Ch 8 Comeback

She'll be showing off her comedic chops (and hopefully some Muay Thai moves?) in a new Ch 8 drama.

Rui En Is Going To Make You Laugh In Her Ch 8 Comeback

The last time we saw Rui En was at the HSBC Singapore Rugby Sevens finals at the National Stadium in April. She looked happy and relaxed and so different from the troubled ice princess many have come to see her as in recent years. It’s clear that the year Rui En has taken away from the spotlight — she was last seen onscreen in Ch 8 drama Have A Little Faith, which aired in July 2017 — has been good to her and we wondered if she would finally be making her much-awaited TV comeback.

Well, our wish has just been granted. It was recently announced that Rui En will be starring in a new Ch 8 drama titled Yin Cuo Yang Cha. Filming for the drama, which will air in March 2019, is expected to start in September. In the light-hearted supernatural comedy, Rui En plays a “soul reaper” (which we assume is a being that collects souls like a grim reaper) who is tasked to complete several missions in the human world. Starring opposite the two-time Best Actress winner are Shaun Chen, who will play her love interest, Chen Hanwei and Hong Huifang. When contacted, Rui En’s manager declined to comment for this story.

It’s said that the upcoming drama will be a showcase of Rui En’s comedic chops, which she has displayed to great effect in Ch 8 hits like A Tale of 2 Cities (2011) and The Dream Makers (2013). And if there’s anything we’ve learnt from watching the star’s past dramas, it’s that there’s no better Rui En than a funny Rui En.
