In August, when reports that Taiwanese actress-producer Ruby Lin’s work studio, which was based in Hengdian, China, had cancelled its business registration license in the mainland, rumours were rife that the 45-year-old was in some sort of trouble.

At that time, Chinese actress-director Vicki Zhao had just got blacklisted by the Chinese authorities and many wondered if Ruby had suffered the same fate.

Coincidentally, Ruby’s husband, Taiwanese actor Wallace Huo, too had deregistered his studio in China last year. He also parted ways with his long-time manager there.

However, it turns out it was all for business and personal reasons.
