Roxanne Tong Calls Herself An "Auntie" While Thanking Netizens For Criticising Her Performance In New Drama
Celebrities are bound to be faced with criticism throughout their career, but how many people can take it in stride like Hong Kong actress Roxanne Tong?
In fact, the 36-year-old TVB star is so chill with these harsh comments, she even thanked them for helping her "improve".
In new TVB drama Secret Door, Roxanne plays a hotheaded and reckless policewoman and she has many action scenes that see her chasing after or getting into physical fights with criminals.
Sadly, her performance has been panned by viewers.
"She doesn't sound or act like a cop and she can barely run. [I] don't know why [TVB] would pick her to play a policewoman, especially one with so many scenes," complained one netizen.
Another one snarked: "Last night... Roxanne ran out of breath after chasing [co-star] Ruco Chan. What a weak cop. This character is such a failure."
Roxanne has since responded to the flak on Instagram.
"One can only learn by accepting criticism with humility! I may not have done a good job but I will work harder! I want to thank everyone who paid attention to my performance. I'll remember all your comments, be it good or bad," she said.
Roxanne also thanked netizens for their encouragement, and urged everyone to continue supporting "this auntie" in Secret Door.
