Ricky Kim and family captivate fans with their love

Ricky Kim is the ideal husband. From surprising his wife with a bouquet of flowers to massaging his kids’ eyes so that they wouldn’t be affected by the flash photography, the model-actor’s caring side was out in full force yesterday at ONE’s Family Day Out with Ricky Kim and Kids event.
Korean-American Ricky touched down in Singapore earlier this week, together with his wife, theatre actress Ryu Seungjoo and two of his three children, daughter Kim Taerin, 5, and son Kim Taeoh, 3. The couple’s 7-month-old daughter, Kim Taera did not join the family on their overseas trip, though he did express his desire to bring Taera to Singapore one day.
The family of five are one of four celebrity families currently starring in the Korean reality show, Oh! My Baby, which showcases the daily lives of celebrity families.
Yesterday, Ricky and his kids made an appearance at Waterway Point for a meet and greet session, where they played games and interacted with local fans, who had been eagerly waiting since 7am.
Cheers, yells and squeals of “Oh how cute!” were heard intermittently throughout the trio’s one hour appearance on stage, with everyone’s eyes fixated on the antics of Taerin and Taeoh, who both appeared a little shy at the start, although they quickly warmed up to the enthusiastic crowd, who showered them with gifts ranging from soft toys to an Iron Man mask and chocolate.

Some lucky fans also had the opportunity to go up on stage to take pictures with the trio and get autographs from Ricky, much to the envy of everyone else. Fans of all ages were spotted, from little kids barely older than Taerin to elderly grandmothers.
Ricky also had a special surprise up his sleeve for his wife, Seungjoo. The 34-year-old got his kids to invite his wife onstage, where he presented her with a bouquet of flowers to celebrate both Mother’s Day and the couple’s anniversary, which had passed not too long ago.
Ricky also shared more about why the couple had agreed to be part of the cast for Oh! My Baby, explaining that while he doesn’t think they are a special family, he loves being around them, and that his wife had thought that it’ll be a good present for the kids when they’re older if they were to appear on the show.
The model-actor had also divulged in an interview with Toggle earlier this week that appearing on the show had made him a better parent, which was evident in his actions. Ricky took great pains to ensure that his children were comfortable in the face of the crowd of fans, from tickling the children to ease their nerves, to peppering them with kisses and hugs, and even massaging their eyes in between taking pictures with the fans to ensure that their eyes wouldn’t hurt from the flash of the cameras.
A staff member had also shared that during the family’s photoshoot with them earlier today, Ricky and his wife had ensured that their children went up to all the staff to greet them.
