Reports Claim Rosamund Kwan Never Registered Her Marriage With The Billionaire She ‘Divorced’ In 2015

Much has been said about Hongkong '90s screen beauty Rosamund Kwan’s colourful love life, especially after she divorced Taiwanese billionaire art collector Pierre Chen, 62, in 2015 after a year of marriage. Shortly after, Rosamund, 57, slammed Carina Lau for hanging out with her ex, saying that she should have been “embarrassed” about going on a hike with him days after she announced their divorce.
You’re probably wondering why this five year old gossip is being dredged up again. Turns out that Taiwanese media did a little digging in their spare time and found out that Rosamund and Pierre were never formally married, which meant that their ‘divorce’ was actually a breakup.

It's said that Pierre fell in love with Rosamund in 1995 when he was still married to his former wife at the time. He only pursued Rosamund after his divorce, and the pair dated for about six years before holding a small ceremony in the Maldives back in 2014.
Pierre is believed to have bought a castle in Italy with the intention of holding a grand wedding there. He had wanted to change its name to the Rosamund Hotel to surprise her and had bought a ton of expensive jewelry as a wedding gift for his bride. But before he could follow through with his grand (and expensive) plan, their relationship took a turn for the worse and they found themselves arguing every day. Rosamund then announced to the world that they were divorced.

As Rosamund’s 'divorce' announcement had caught him off-guard, a “heartbroken” Pierre had no choice but to move on with his life. It's said that the actress later regretted her actions and wanted to give their relationship another chance, but Pierre was apparently so devastated by what she did, he couldn’t bring himself to see her anymore.
Pierre has also shared in interviews that he only has one ex-wife, who is also the mother of his three children. This confirms that he and Rosamund were never married.

Rosamund’s first — or should we say, only — marriage was to businessman Chris Wong in 1981. She was only 19 then while he was almost twice her age. They divorced just a year later.
The screen goddess has been romantically linked to numerous men throughout her life, including tycoon William Ma in 1984. Although these rumours were never confirmed, Rosamund was accused of being a home wrecker as many believed that she was the one who caused the marriage between William and actress Maggie Chen to end in divorce.
