Raymond Lam, 42, Gets Age Shamed; His Wife Carina Zhang Defends Him By Saying “A Person's Looks Are Temporary”
Raymond’s wife wants everyone to know that aging is normal, okay?
It's no secret that Hongkong actor Raymond Lam, 42, grew up in the lap of luxury — his dad is tycoon Lam Kwok Wah, a property developer, who sits on the board of multiple real estate and construction companies.
But Raymond carved out a name for himself in showbiz using his own capabilities.
Since graduating from TVB’s 13th artiste training class in 1998, Raymond has captured the hearts of his audience with his talent and his good looks.
Sadly, Raymond has recently found himself on the receiving end of really nasty age shaming comments.
He did get… tanner?
Raymond recently appeared on music shows Chill Club and Jing Ge Jin Qu (which literally translates to ‘hip songs and classic tunes’) to promote his new music.
Netizens noticed that the star, who had a much shorter haircut and tanned skin, looked different... and not in a good way.
For some reason, they couldn't get over how he had — wait for it — wrinkles.
That seemed to open up the floodgates for trolls to chime in about how badly Raymond has "aged", with some even going as far as to call him "old and haggard" and an "uncle".
Not nice, guys.
Some particularly nasty netizens even blamed it on his marriage to 31-year-old Chinese model Carina Zhang.
“His wife has caused him to age a lot," read one comment, while another said "He looks like he's been through a lot since getting married".

In response to the criticism directed at Raymond, Carina, who is of course no stranger to hitting back at the haters, took it upon herself to defend her husband.
“There is nothing to feel sorry about, good looks are not permanent, his charm and talent, however, will never go away,” she wrote.
As for the netizen who asked “what happened to [Raymond]”, Carina had this to say: “He made me his wife”.
