Prince Chiu Reportedly Broke Up With Stephy Tang ‘Cos He Didn’t Have Enough Money To Marry Her
The Taiwanese star is believed to have little to no savings because most of his income went into paying his father's debts.
When Taiwanese actor Prince Chiu, 32, and Hongkong actress Stephy Tang, 37, announced their surprise breakup last month, it gave rise to very nasty rumours about their split.
There was talk that Prince was frequenting clubs and cheating on Stephy with various women but Stephy has since stepped forward to rubbish those rumours, adding that Prince is a “kind and traditional” man with “good character”.
As the former couple hasn’t revealed why they broke up, theories on what caused the end of the three-year relationship have continued to surface.
Hongkong media are now claiming that Prince decided to put an end to things because he didn’t have enough money to marry Stephy.

Prince is believed to have little to no savings because most of his income has gone into clearing his father's debts.
Prince and his younger brother, Chris, have reportedly forked out over NT$10mil (S$480k) to pay off loan sharks, from whom their dad had borrowed money. The brothers also live together in a rented apartment in Taipei because they can't afford a house of their own.

The long-distance relationship is also said to have contributed to the split.
Prince is based in Taiwan and Stephy, in Hongkong, and Prince was reluctant to make frequent trips to the city as he would have to pay for quarantine accommodation whenever he did so.
It was reported that couple broke up after Prince flew to Hongkong in May to have a heart-to-heart talk with Stephy, and that their decision to split up was a mutual one.
