Chinese actress Vicki Zhao recently took to Weibo to share the process of managing her wine business in her luxurious vineyard and unintentionally revealed some pictures of her estate in the process.

Aside from being an actress, Vicki is also known as a canny investor with a passion for winemaking. The actress and her Singaporean entrepreneur husband Huang You Long spent €4 million (approximately S$6.4 million) in 2011 on a piece of property in Southern France, a 17-acre vineyard Chateau Monlot in the Saint Emilion region of Bordeaux.

This property had the highest selling price and was the oldest property in the area, having 400 years of history. It also has some history to it as it once belonged to French King Louis XIII and was part of the lands of the Noble House of Capet.

After gaining ownership of the Chateau Monlot, the couple began working towards their aim of making their wines one of the finest in Saint Emilion. They retained the original wine team but Vicki made several improvements such as hiring a wine-maker from Chateau Petrus to help upgrade the production and enlisting the expertise of an agronomist (a certified crop advisor). When the online sale of the wines was launched, it led to a flood of orders, proving to be very successful.

She made a rare post showing the process of operating a winery, uploading pictures of workers in the production line carefully selecting grapes. She disclosed that they even had to plan the dates to pick them to ensure that every grape was of the best quality possible.

In the pictures, the interior of the vineyard could also be seen and it looked both modern and classic, with its high beige walls, almost resembling a palace.

The 41-year-old actress has been nicknamed "China's show-business Buffett" and was named the wealthiest working actress by Forbes’ in 2015.

Vicki tied the knot with You Long in 2008 and welcomed their daughter, April, in 2010.
