Photos From Kevin Cheng & Grace Chan’s Gorgeous Wedding In Bali
The happy couple went ahead with their wedding on Aug 12 even though a devastating earthquake had rocked the tourist island just three days before.
Who else wants to get married in the Bvlgari Resort in Bali? Celebrities, for sure. One day after Tanglin star Roz Pho tied the knot with her boyfriend of 16 years at the resort, Hongkong stars Kevin Cheng and Grace Chan also became husband and wife at the same venue. We’re not surprised that the super lux Bvlgari Resort Bali (a night in the wedding suite will reportedly set you back some $11K) is a very popular wedding destination for Asia’s biggest stars, what with its gorgeous view of the Indian Ocean and more importantly, its exclusivity. It explains why Taiwanese stars Wallace Huo and Ruby Lin threw their wedding celebration there in 2016, as did Chinese screen beauty Yang Mi and Hongkong actor Hawick Lau in 2014.
Though some had speculated that Kevin and Grace were going to postpone the wedding after a devastating earthquake rocked the island just three days before their big day, it was business as usual for the happy couple. It’s said that the 27-year-old bride had only two requests from the 48-year-old actor for the gatecrashing part of their wedding. That he sing his own song ‘A Thousand I dos’ (yes, he was a singer back in the ’90s) and that he carry her into the hall where they would have the traditional tea ceremony. And of course Kevin gladly accomplished both tasks. “I would do anything to marry my wife. And today’s [tasks] were easy – [I only had] to sing a song and carry her.” he beamed.
The ceremony was held in a little chapel inside the resort. There, the couple recited their own vows, which left nary a dry eye in the house. “After knowing you for just over a year, I wanted to start a family with you, but the timing was not right. I want to thank you for being willing to marry me,” said Kevin. The 2013 Miss Hongkong also piled on the schmaltz. “I want to thank you ’cos with you, I’ve learned what happiness means,” she said. “The days I’ve spent with you are filled with warmth and love. Thank you, Kevin, for bringing me happiness!”And of course there was no lack of star power at the wedding. The groom’s buddies like Kenneth Ma, Natalie Tong, Wayne Lai, Michael Tong and Raymond Cho were all in attendance.
According to reports, Grace wore a wedding gown by Hongkong designer Noel Chu. The 2013 Miss Hongkong also wore the same traditional Chinese wedding dress that her mum wore to her own wedding in 1984. But the best accessory of the day was of course the 4.8 carat diamond wedding ring from Kevin.
