Ex-Girlfriend Of Patrick Tse, Who's 49 Years His Junior, Reveals What He Was Like As Her Partner

Hong Kong veteran actor Patrick Tse’s relationship with his Shanghainese model ex-girlfriend remains one of the most talked-about romances in showbiz, largely due to their large age gap.

His ex, Coco, is 49 years younger than the now 89-year-old star. She was only in her 20s when she met Patrick, who was in his late 60s, back in 2005. Coco is also three years younger than Patrick’s daughter Jennifer Tse.

They dated on and off for about 13 years and officially broke up around 2018.

But recently, Coco made a rare appearance to talk about their usually low-key past relationship.

Needless to say, the now 40-year-old was immediately asked about the widely rumoured “HK$20 million breakup fee” (S$3.3 million) that she was reportedly given by Patrick. She neither confirmed nor denied the claim.

During the interview, Coco, however, rubbished long-standing speculations that she and Patrick first met at a nightclub.

She clarified that they were actually introduced by mutual friends and met for the first time at a cafe in Shanghai. According to Coco, Patrick was very proactive at the time, and the two hit it off instantly.

Reflecting on their time together, Coco revealed that although Patrick appeared cool and carefree on the surface, he was, in fact, gentle, considerate, and very much a gentleman in private.

Even when she was younger and frequently went to bars with friends, he never got angry. Instead, he would thoughtfully remind her to stay safe and not drink too much, showing great concern for her emotions and well-being.

So why did they break up?

For years, there have been rumours that Patrick did not want to hold Coco back in her youth and had even admitted that he was “no longer capable.”

This apparently led him to propose the breakup, and he allegedly gave her a large sum of money as compensation.

When asked about this, Coco once again sidestepped the question.

Still, in recent years, she appears to be living a comfortable life — including frequent overseas trips — which has led some netizens to interpret as an indirect response to the rumours.

Similarly, Patrick previously shared on the Chinese talk show A Date With Luyu that his relationship with Coco was more spiritual in nature.

He revealed: “For three years, I did not touch her.” He added that their time together mainly consisted of having meals, dancing, and chatting to ease each other’s loneliness.
