Online Claims That Jiro Wang Was Mistaken For Photo-Seeking Fan In China Turn Out To Be False

Taiwanese group Fahrenheit was one of the most recognisable boybands in the early noughties so why are some netizens saying that Jiro Wang, 41, was mistaken for a fan at a recent event?

Does she not know who Jiro is?

In a recent Weibo video taken during Shanghai Fashion Week, Jiro was seen  trying to take a photo with popular Chinese influencer, Lu Xianren, who has more than eight million followers on Douyin.

However, the moment Jiro got close to Xianren, a woman, whom netizens assumed to be part of the crew, immediately went up to Jiro and gestured for him to move aside.

The singer was then seen apologising awkwardly before returning to where he was originally standing.

Netizens speculated that the woman had mistaken Jiro for a fan, and that she had asked him to not get close to Xianren.

But it looks like netizens have been too quick to jump to conclusions again.

It's just a misunderstanding, y'all.

According to the woman, who left a comment on the video to explain what actually happened, she definitely did not mistake Jiro for a fan.

She revealed that she was the stage director for the show Jiro and Xianren were attending, and that the video was actually taken during the rehearsals.

Turns out, what looked like her motioning for Jiro to move away was just her trying to get him to return to his marked position on stage.

She then went on to say that she is actually a fan of Jiro and even praised the star for being "very professional" on the runway.

Subsequently, Xianren also left a comment (see below) to clarify that he and Jiro were not standing in their correct positions and that they were told to stand further away from each other.
